The Puerto de Pedro Ruíz offers a predominantly narrow and asphalted Pass road with a dense alternation of tight Hairpins and medium radii: the route is winding, but not extremely technical. It leads through a rocky, impressive karst landscape. The road is without a central reservation throughout and with limited space for passing traffic - choosing the right line and looking ahead are crucial. A smooth rhythm can be found on the clearer sections, while the narrower passages require precise braking and sensitive acceleration. Experienced riders will enjoy it, but beginners should tackle the route in good conditions and at a calm pace.
It is not a major national route. Accordingly, the volume of traffic is usually low. In the high season, it can increase noticeably due to excursion traffic and groups of cyclists.
