The Puerto de Palombera offers a long, varied mountain route. The surface is consistently good, but the route is winding with changing radii; in addition to flowing sections, there are several tight Hairpins and ramps with gradients of up to 25%. The road is mostly narrow and without a clearly marked central reservation. Experienced riders will appreciate the rhythm, while beginners should only tackle the route with respect, on dry asphalt and with a defensive driving style.
The volume of traffic is generally moderate, but can increase noticeably at weekends and during the vacation season due to excursion and motorcycle traffic.
