The Stelvio Pass is fully asphalted, but has no central reservation. The width of the road varies greatly, especially in the almost one hundred Hairpin bends, many of which are very narrow. Due to the numerous Switchbacks and the sometimes considerable gradient, the Mountain pass is considered challenging and is not suitable for beginners.
