The Coll d'Ordino is a winding mountain route, the asphalt is good and grippy throughout, the road is predominantly wide and two-lane with a central reservation. As is typical for motorcycles, there are numerous Hairpins and short switchbacks with a mix of tight and medium radii, with steeper ramps of up to around 20% in between. Overall, the route is smooth and controllable.

As a link between Canillo and Ordino, the Mountain pass is of regional importance and serves less as a main transit route; the volume of traffic is usually moderate.
