The Col de Fanlo is asphalted, the road is rather narrow and there is no central reservation along the entire route. Motorcyclists can expect an intense mix of tight Hairpin bends and long Curves, interspersed with steep ramps of up to 25 percent. The quality of the asphalt varies depending on the section; patches, fine gravel and dirt on the slopes can appear at any time and make the route tricky in Wet conditions. Overall, a clear recommendation for experienced riders, while beginners should only tackle the combination of steep sections, tight radii and changing grip with great caution.
Practical tip: Check the current HU-631 clearance before setting off; in the Añisclo section, there is often one-way traffic from Puyarruego towards La Tella during the season.
