The Loibl Pass is fully asphalted and has a central reservation along the entire route. The route is winding and has numerous successive Hairpin bends and hairpin bends, some with steep climbs. Safe vehicle control and alpine driving experience are an advantage here.

The original Pass summit is closed to motorized traffic, which is why the route leads through a Tunnel on the new Pass summit. This short section of tunnel must be used to cross the Pass road.
