Coming from Bad Eisenkappel, after Koprein there is a short section with a very cracked and damaged surface. After Alpengasthof Riepl, there is another section of worn asphalt before the road turns into a Gravel road shortly before the Pass summit. The descent to Globasnitz continues in a similar condition, with changing surface conditions and a challenging route.
The roads are narrow in places, and both the gradients and the Curves are demanding. Some Hairpins are particularly confusing, which is why it is essential to drive with foresight. The route is rough and technically demanding, but this is precisely what makes it so attractive. A very good riding technique is essential here.
