The Gailbergsattel is asphalted throughout and very well developed. The road has a continuous central reservation, with the exception of a single-lane section to Laas on the ascent from Kötschach. Despite the single lane, the road remains pleasantly wide here.
On the ascent from Oberdrauburg, the route begins directly with an intense spectacle of bends, consisting of eight Hairpins with a pleasant radius. As the route continues, there are a few additional bend combinations, but these do not pose any particular technical challenge and can be mastered smoothly.
